Nada te espante (Fear Nothing), 2014. Installation. Galería la Encantada. Barcelona.
In the centre of the space stands a plinth supporting an astrakhan coat from the wardrobe of one of the artist’s relatives. One by one, the members of the public enter the room. Their experiences with the object are personal. The object’s symbolic charge is revealed by its weight and the family connotation. Both its condition as a garment worn to keep out the cold and the weight of the astrakhan entail reflections on inheritance, constructions, values and family responsibilities.
